1. What is your factory’s annual production capacity?
Our DOMILL ABRASIVE abrasive manufacturing plant is equipped with advanced production facilities and a professional technical team, with an annual production capacity of up to 50,000 tons. This means we are capable of meeting large-scale production demands and providing stable product supply to our customers. Whether it’s large-volume orders or long-term cooperation projects, we have sufficient production capacity to ensure timely delivery, thus safeguarding our customers’ production schedules and project timelines.
2. How to Choose the Right Abrasive?
Choosing the right abrasive is crucial for product quality and production efficiency. We will recommend the appropriate type, shape, and grit size based on your product’s application, the characteristics of the material being processed, and the requirements of the processing technique. For example, if your product requires fine grinding and polishing, we would recommend abrasives with finer grits, such as micro-powder alumina or silicon carbide abrasives. If rough grinding or cutting is needed, coarser abrasives, like brown corundum or white corundum, would be recommended. Additionally, we also consider the hardness and fracture resistance of the abrasive to ensure that it maintains good performance and longevity during the processing. Through professional selection advice, we help customers choose the most suitable abrasive, improving production efficiency and product quality.
3. What are the Uses of Abrasives?
Abrasives have a wide range of applications. They can be used to produce various grinding tools, such as grinding wheels, discs, and belts, which play a crucial role in industries like machining, automotive manufacturing, and aerospace. These tools are used for cutting, grinding, and polishing metal or non-metal materials. Abrasives are also directly used in sandblasting processes, where abrasive particles are sprayed at high speeds to clean metal surfaces, remove scale and rust, or grind and polish objects, achieving the desired smoothness and gloss. Additionally, abrasives are used in the electronics industry for chip processing and in the optical industry for lens polishing, among other fields, offering significant industrial value.
4. What are the basic characteristics that abrasives should have?
Generally speaking, abrasives should meet the following five requirements:
Higher hardness: The hardness of the abrasive should be higher than that of the material being processed so that the excess part of the material surface can be effectively removed to achieve the purpose of grinding and polishing. For example, the hardness of aluminum oxide abrasive can reach Mohs hardness 9, which is suitable for grinding most metal materials.
Moderate resistance to crushing and self-sharpening: Abrasives will be subjected to greater pressure and impact during processing, so they need to have a certain resistance to crushing to prevent the particles from breaking prematurely. At the same time, moderate self-sharpening can make the abrasive automatically shed new sharp particles after wear, maintain the sharpness of the abrasive, and extend the service life of the abrasive.
Good thermal stability: In high-temperature environments such as high-speed grinding or sandblasting, the abrasive needs to maintain its stable performance without thermal decomposition or thermal expansion to ensure the processing quality and the service life of the abrasive. For example, silicon carbide abrasives have good thermal stability and are suitable for high-temperature grinding.
Certain chemical stability: Abrasives should have good chemical stability and are not easy to react chemically with the processed materials or grinding fluids, so as not to affect the processing effect or produce harmful substances. For example, aluminum oxide abrasives are chemically stable and are not easy to react with most metal materials.
Appropriate particle size distribution: The particle size distribution of abrasives should be uniform to ensure the grinding performance of the abrasive and the quality of the processed surface. Uneven particle size distribution may cause uneven marks or defects on the processed surface, affecting the appearance and performance of the product.
