Non-woven Abrasives

The application of abrasives in non-woven fabric is primarily reflected in non-woven abrasive products. These products are made by injecting abrasive grains into nylon fibers, which are then bonded together using synthetic resins. Non-woven abrasive products feature an open mesh structure, offering properties such as waterproof, washable, and excellent elasticity. They are widely used in industrial processes such as polishing and sanding, effectively improving processing efficiency and product quality.

The characteristics of non-woven abrasive products include load resistance, corrosion resistance, good insulation, and they can be used in both wet and dry conditions on most metals to achieve uniform surface treatment. They can even be applied to irregular surfaces. These products do not cause discoloration of the workpiece surface and are suitable for various applications, including deburring, cleaning, paint removal, sanding, brushing, grinding, texturing, and polishing.

The abrasives used in non-woven abrasive products mainly include aluminum oxide and silicon carbide, each with distinct properties. For example, aluminum oxide is highly durable and has a slower cutting speed, while silicon carbide cuts quickly, making it ideal for applications that require rapid material removal.

Brown Fused Alumina, White Fused Alumina, Black Silicon Carbide are typically used in Non-woven abrasives for deburring, blending and finer finishes. Due to the three-dimensional structure, the finish is determined by grades rather than grit size, and a range of grits are used to determine the grade. For example, this is the grades of one manufacturer: extra-coarse(50 grit), coarse(60-80), medium(100-150), fine(180-220), very fine(240-360), super fine(400), ultra fine(600).
