White Fused Alumina (WFA) is made by the fusion of controlled quality Bayer Alumina in an electric arc furnace at temperatures higher than 2000 degrees accompanied by a controlled solidification process to achieve good strength.
It is a kind of raw material characterized with high hardness, friable with high purity, chemical stability, a high melting point, and large crystal size.
The final product is a purer aluminum oxide that can be used in a specialty process without losing any of the strength and sharpness of brown fused alumina.
